Struggling to find and develop his own sound, Belgian NightFunk is now leading from the front. Over the last couple of years, the man originally turned on to the dance by Defected has fomented his own funky groove driven, emotive brand of house that now resonates around the world.
2018 saw the already influential artist stepping up yet again, this time by making his brilliant EP “Pick up the Phone” with remixes from Alvaro Smart and Luke Hassan. He won a slot with the Green Mohawk and got the chance to play with Green Velvet himself after sending in a mixtape with his own exclusive tunes.
Aside from that high impact work, NightFunk has also turned out a consistently excellent string of EPs on labels like OVRDOSE, OKNF, Loulou Records and Cutting Wax. Never was he in finer form than with ‘Romeo’, an original track that he released himself on Bandcamp after a great amount of support on Soundcloud.
As a result, of course, NightFunk is a hugely in demand DJ who started 2019 with an international Gig in Frankfurt, and an EP with the likes of Paco Osuna, Richie Hawtin, Joseph Capriati and Detlef. It was his smooth creative skills that first won him the affections of Antwerp based concept “Ongemanierd” and Amsterdam based concept “OVRDOSE”.
The future is bright for NightFunk. It means he is fully focussed on the next chapter, which already promises to be a thrilling one for his fans, with loads of new original tracks, as well as more EP’s on influential labels like Material Series .
